To get married in St Kitts or to get married in Nevis, you must be resident in St Kitts or Nevis for at least two week days. Basically to have a wedding in St Kitts & Nevis you must prove who you say you are plus show you are free to marry!
Specifically, for marriage in St Kitts & Nevis you need to:
You both must have either a valid passport or birth certificate.
If either party is divorced, a decree absolute must be presented. If documents are not in English they must be accompanied by a notarized translation.
If either party is widowed, a copy of the death certificate of the deceased spouse is required.
If you want your St Kitts or Nevis marriage ceremony to be performed by a Catholic priest, you must marry in one of the many St Kitts & Nevis' Catholic Churches, plus you need a letter from your resident priest at home verifying that you are unmarried and have received the necessary Catholic marriage instructions.
If you want an Anglican priest or other minister of religion is to perform your wedding ceremony in St Kitts or Nevis, a letter must come from the your home resident minister is need to verify that you are both are known and unmarried.
Once you have been resident in St. Kitts and Nevis for the minimum two week days, a notary public and a marriage officer need to be contacted & paid for permission to marry - these charges vary from island to island and from officer to officer.
If the couple is residing or staying on St. Kitts or Nevis for the minimum period of two week days, the license fee is US $80; if the couple has been in St Kitts or Nevis for over 15 days prior to the marriage, the fee is only US $20.
For all weddings, including Religious & Civil - if you have never been married before you need to complete an affidavit which confirms your single status and can be obtained from a Notary Public in your home country or on St Kitts & Nevis for a cost of US$ 20.00 or EC$ 50.00 (compulsory in Nevis).
